Rio Longa Lodge and Campsite: Situated on the banks of the Longa River, Rio Longa has accommodated hundreds of birders who have been re-discovering Angola over the past few years. Okavango Delta
Thamalakane Lodge: Situated on the road to the Moremi Game Reserve and on the banks of the Thamalakane River, the southern-most river of the main Okavango system, the lodge is well placed for birders wishing to explore the Moremi Game Reserve, Lake Ngami and the delta itself. White-backed Duck, Lesser Jacana, Pygmy Goose & Rufous-bellied Heron all frequent the waters around the lodge.

Okavango Panhandle
Drotsky's Cabins: Drotsky's Cabins is situated on the banks of the Okavango River near the Namibian border and about 5km from the town of Shakawe. Drotsky's is one of the oldest lodges in Botswana and the friendly management can be counted on for good advice on local birding. In the summer months Narina Trogon nest in the campsite and Wood Owl and Pel's Fishing Owl are both local residents.
Kasane (Chobe)
Chobe Garden Lodge: Situated on the banks of the Chobe River and just a few kilometres from the spectacular Chobe National Park, the Garden Lodge is an ideal base for birders to explore this amazing area. Although the park is home to a great abundance of birds, many of the specials such as African Finfoot, Pel's Fishing Owl, Three-banded Courser and Pennant-winged Nightjar can be found outside the park on the outskirts of Kasane town.

Nata Lodge: Just a few kilometres from the Nata Bird Sanctuary and the renowned Sua Pan is the newly rebuilt Nata Lodge. Although recently ravaged by fire, the bush surrounding the lodge provides reasonable birding but it is the gateway access to 'the pans' that makes this lodge a winner with birders.

Taita Falcon Lodge: With some of the most breath-taking views in Zambia, Taita Falcon Lodge is a must for any birder. It's only 10km out of the town of Livingstone and although the road out there leaves a lot to be desired you will forget all of that when you arrive. The lodge is situated on the Batoka Gorge overlooking the mighty Zambezi 300ft below. Regular sightings include Crowned Hornbill, Natal Francolin, Verreaux's Eagle, Augur Buzzard, Perregrine Falcon, Mocking Cliff-Chat and if you are extremely lucky, the lodge's namesake, Taita Falcon.
